If you’re after something a little different, then the raw beauty of Lake Lochnagar makes it on of the most unique places that you can go to in the Wanaka area (well, if you’re down for a 10 minute helicopter ride that is!). This rugged alpine lake has beauty in abundance, and it was exactly what Ruby and Aaron wanted for their elopement. On a bitterly cold, magical winter’s morning they rose early, and took an exciting heli uber into the Southern Alps. After enjoying the spectacular outlook of Lochnagar, the headed to Coromandel Peak to make their marriage official, and tie the knot overlooking Lake Wanaka, and that iconic view.
